Islamic Relief is an international relief and development charity founded in 1984 with its headquarters in Birmingham, UK. As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, Islamic Relief promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities – regardless of race, religion or gender. In Kosovo, Islamic Relief started it’s activity since 1999.

Islamic Relief Kosova is currently looking a candidate for the position of “Project Coordinator” to join our Team.

About the Project:

Title of the Project: Empowering women through vocational Tailoring training

Overall objective of the action is to enhance development of local employment in County through implementation of innovative models of employment of women through vocational training

The objective of the program will be to train the candidate with Practical knowledge of Sewing and Tailoring; the defined content will provide the techniques of sewing day to day used apparels by children and older people giving the sufficient opportunity of sustainable employment.

The vocational training will include the training in:                             

1. Basic training on sewing and tailoring concepts.

2 Apparels cutting and sewing techniques

3.Soft and Entrepreneurial skills.           

This project intends to give skills training in tailoring, and fashion design courses for sustainable livelihoods to 50 women. With this vocational skills training, women will live with dignity by earning money themselves. During this training, women will learn and develop skills in tailoring. We will provide during the course with sewing machines and tool kits to learn and practice on their own and to be empowered in the way tomorrow to find a job. 

OUTCOMES

1 Women empowerment through vocational training for tailoring and entrepreneurship

2. Women empowerment through income generation activities-employment opportunities

OUTPUTS

1.1  50 Unemployed vulnerable women gained professional knowledge on tailoring & entrepreneurship.

2.1  Boosting employment Referring women to private tailoring factories for employment, and employment of 6 out of 50 at the established mini clothes factory

Results of output 1

Through this result, our targeted women will have knowledge opportunities, in theoretical and practical way from the best tailoring trainers.

Results of output 2

By achieving this result, we will enhance employability of the target group and provide them with the special skills in tailoring, an opportunity for self-employment, referring employment in companies and employment within the established mini clothes factory.

By achieving this result, we will enhance an opportunity for income generation through tailoring services we will get in mini clothes factory, and opportunity that will be given to all our women trained in employment

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Monitoring the daily progress of projects 
  • Providing detailed updates to project managers or other stakeholders
  • Ensuring team members have the supplies and resources they need to complete their assigned tasks on time and within their budget limits
  • Organize needed reports based on evaluation
  • Planning meetings and organizing with teacher of tailoring and coordinate the groups with targeted women (who will participate in training)
  • Increase the performance of the chosen candidates on vacation trainings which can impact in their job opportunities.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Kosovo Programe Manager.
  • Works closely with Programe Manager (IRK), Project Officer (IRK) and with teachers involded on this project (IRK).
  • Liaises at all levels with staff within the organization.

SCOPE AND AUTHORITY

Scope of the Role:

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible to Coordinate and manage the Project and ensure the program meets Islamic Relief Quality Standards. Moreover, the Project Coordinator has to contribute to the identification and formulation of new project concept note. He/she liaises with support department to facilitate the implementation of activities and achieve expected results. Any decisions that impact on the project activities are made in conjunction with/referred to the Program Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The job holder is accountable for fulfilling his or her roles and responsibilities in line with Islamic Reliefs values and principles of fairness, humanity, honesty, respect and fair treatment of his/her colleagues and staff. The following are the main responsibilities that the role holder will be accountable for:

Key Accountability 1:

Proper Coordination and Management of Project’s activities according to IRW’s Quality Standards and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.

Key Accountability 2:

Support to monitoring of activities, evaluation and ensure quality reporting.

Key Accountability 3:

Coordination and liaison with finances, logistics and administration to ensure the smooth Project’s implementation.

Job Requirement

PERSON SPECIFICATION

It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with Islamic values, and principles, knowledge about orphan`s, as well as commitment to Islamic Relief Vision, Mission and Core Values.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education, etc.
  • 2 years minimum of experience in Project Management.
  • Previous experience in an NGO (desirable)
  • Previous experience in managing similar projects.

SKILLS

  • Excellent word processing, excel and database skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Demonstrable administration and office management skills.
  • Experience of setting up and maintaining management information and data retrieval systems.
  • Experience of diary and correspondence management.
  • Strong written communication skills necessary to draft letters, reports and other documentation.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills and excellent telephone manner.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and understanding of using relationship management database software.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language, written and spoken.

ABILITIES

  • Ability to manage day-to-day administrative and office management functions.
  • Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collate data and produce reports.
  • Able to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a team, without close supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, face to face and over the telephone, and in writing.
  • Able to work methodically with a good attention to details.
  • Able to demonstrate a consistent approach to others with confidence and Integrity.
