Tetra Tech International Development (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for Chief of Party on an anticipated USAID-funded Climate Smart Initiative in Kosovo. The anticipated five-year, USAID-funded Climate Smart Initiative Activity in Kosovo will create a resilient environment and more economic sustainability through increased awareness of and demand for climate solutions, and policies that support climate change mitigation and adaptation, with a focus on behavior change, raising awareness, and influence government, citizens, and the private sector to take action to mitigate climate change and adapt to its impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, management, and general technical direction for the entire Activity, ensuring an integrated vision among different technical components and actors.
  • Identify potential risks to successful Activity implementation and recommend and implement appropriate adjustments.
  • Assume responsibility for overall USAID contract management ensuring quality control and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with USAID/Kosovo and Activity stakeholders, responding to technical and administrative matters and adjusting programs and operations in response to USAID’s technical direction.
  • Manage the Activity’s technical team and ensure the development of high-quality deliverables and the provision of strong technical support to project partners.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree (or higher) in natural resource management, public policy, economics, climate sciences, international development, or another related discipline is required.
  • At least ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in senior program management roles, preferably as Chief of Party or equivalent, including the direct supervision of professional and support staff, oversight of large program budgets, and direct engagement of high-level government and program counterparts.
  • At least five (5) years of experience (preferred) working on USAID or other donor-funded projects; direct experience implementing programs in Kosovo and the Balkans region preferred.
  • At least seven (7) years of experience implementing climate-smart or climate-adaptation-oriented programming or demonstrated work in behavior change communications for climate change and adaptation-related initiatives.
  • Professional fluency in English required.
