ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in building systems design and BIM technology to join our team on an outsourcing basis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering electrical design solutions for large-scale engineering and construction projects. This position requires a strong background in electrical design, proficiency in BIM software, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical Design & Development: Lead the design and development of electrical systems for projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications, local codes, and industry standards.
• BIM Integration: Utilize BIM software (e.g., BIM360) for electrical design integration, ensuring accurate and efficient modeling and documentation of systems.
• Client Collaboration: Work directly with clients and consultants to understand and meet their electrical system requirements, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Coordination with Stakeholders: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure integration of electrical design elements into the overall project.
• Project Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including electrical plans, diagrams, and specifications, ensuring timely delivery.
• Technical Compliance: Ensure that all designs comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Design Reviews: Participate in design reviews to identify potential issues, suggest improvements, and ensure the accuracy of designs.
• Problem-Solving: Address any technical challenges related to electrical systems design, providing innovative solutions to meet project goals.
• Project Management Support: Assist in the management of electrical engineering schedules, ensuring all milestones are met within project timelines.
• Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Liaise with vendors, consultants, and contractors to source electrical materials and ensure timely procurement.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on electrical design documents to maintain accuracy and consistency across all project stages.

Role Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a strong focus on electrical systems design.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design engineering, ideally within large-scale construction projects.
• BIM Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of BIM tools such as BIM360, with experience in managing electrical designs in a BIM environment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of electrical design principles, building codes, and industry standards.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and project teams.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure the highest quality of electrical designs and documentation.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to electrical design systems.
• Project Management: Experience in managing multiple design tasks and coordinating deliverables to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office Suite, and design-related software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other electrical design tools.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance with all health and safety standards in electrical designs.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in Data Centres & Large-Scale Projects: Previous experience in designing electrical systems for data centers, hyperscale facilities, or complex infrastructure projects.
• Mentorship Ability: Experience mentoring junior engineers or design teams to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality electrical designs.
• Client-Facing Experience: Proven ability to interact with clients and stakeholders, ensuring that their needs are met through design solutions.
