Position: Lead Project Coordinator

Project: PEN - for the PIAKOS project in Kosovo

Place of engagement: Pristina ( with travel to municipalities in Prizren, Gjilan, Mitrovica Suth and Ferizaj Regions)

  1. Background

The Peer Educators Network (PEN) is a youth organization that operates on a non-governmental and non-profit basis, with the aim of creating a community where young people can act as catalysts for social, democratic progress and environmental protection through innovative methods. While PEN is headquartered in Pristina, we have a presence in all regions of Kosovo. The organization has a wide network of volunteers and activists operating throughout Kosovo, serving as promoters of positive transformation within their respective communities.

PEN programs address youth empowerment and employment, non-formal education, integration and capacity building of children, democracy/active citizenship, volunteering, gender equality, social innovation and entrepreneurship, environmental protection, and healthy lifestyles.

PEN within the PIAKOS project which is supported by ATRC through the World Bank is looking for Lead Project Coordinator to lead the implementation of the PEN portion of the PIAKOS project.

2. Work assignment

Under the supervision of the PEN Management, the Lead Project Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of the PIAKOS project as assigned by the PEN Management .

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all aspects of a project are organized and in conformance with timeline and deliverables requirement
  • Responsible for planning and organizing activities according to the agreement with the donor within the "PIAKOS" project;
  • Develop and maintain project performance database that tracks overall progress and achievement of milestones
  • Assign and monitor resources effectively to boost project efficiency and maximize deliverables output
  • Coordinate and monitor the local partners and regular follow-up of the progress of partners implementing the assigned portions of the project.
  • Report project risks and outcomes to appropriate management channels, and escalate issues according to project work plan
  • Serve as point of communication between the donor, partners and the team
  • Deepen partnerships with outside resources, including the municipal directorates of Education, third-party vendors and consultants,
  • Ensure timely and quality quarterly reporting as well as annual reporting to the donors

Lead Project Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
  • At least 3 years of project coordination experience (preferably work that involves working with youth in Kosovo)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Able to proactively address potential issues
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office package
  • Collaborative working style and team-player attitude
  • Positive and encouraging personality
  • Able to work independently with little supervision
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to the team's success
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Able to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven work environment
  • Excellent English and Albanian language capabilities both written and spoken is a must

3. Time frame

The Lead Project Coordinator will be engaged for 8 months par time (50%) with the possibility of extension pending on PEN funding availability.
