INTERNSHIP TITLE: Operations Intern
INTERN WORKSITE LOCATION: Prishtina, Kosovo
DATES OF INTERNSHIP: November 2023 – January 2024
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP: 3 months, with possibility of extension up to 6 months
WORKING HOURS: 4 hours a day, 20 hours per week, flexible as coordinated with the supervisor
INTERN’S SUPERVISOR: Operations and Finance Director
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The USAID Kosovo Compete Activity is a five-year project implemented by DT Global that aims to promote resilient, self-sustaining market systems, and facilitate the private sector’s improved competitiveness in local, regional, and global markets. The USAID Kosovo Compete Activity works to empower firms, organizations, and institutions to improve market systems in three key export-oriented sectors (Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), Wood processing, and Food processing) and sustainably increase their competitiveness. By working to address constraints across the system, USAID Compete will enable scalable and systemic change to occur, stimulating job creation and the private sector’s increased ability to engage in local, regional, and international markets. The expected results of the Activity across all three sectors are 1) market systems are strengthened to increase sector competitiveness and 2) market actors within those market systems are more productive and competitive.
The Operations Intern is responsible for providing administrative, procurement and operational support to the Operations team. The intern will also have the opportunity to learn about the operations of the organization/project and gain experience in a variety of areas.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Learn and acquire professional experience towards desired career path;
- Advance skills in HR, operations, procurement, and finance.
- Learn to work responsibly and independently in a dynamic work environment;
- Learn to work in a team setting towards common project goals;
- Obtain knowledge and skills to work in a USAID project.
DELIVERABLES:
- Filing and organizing documents
- Providing administrative support to other employees
- Assisting with the procurement of goods and services
- Tracking and analyzing procurement data
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and policies
- Assisting with the planning and organizing of events
- Providing general office support
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recently completed or in the final year of completion of a university degree in Economic, Finance and/ or Business preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Albanian.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Committed, hard-working, and willing to learn.
- Excellent competency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Adaptable and flexible.
