Summary of Position:

IREX seeks a qualified Energy and adjacent sectors training and curriculum development expert for the anticipated four-year MCC-funded Energy Skills for the Future Activity as part of the Just and Equitable Transition and Acceleration Project (JETA) in Kosovo. Based in Prishtina, the Energy Sector Training Expert is responsible for coordinating the overall strategic direction and development of training programs.

This position is contingent on funding. Citizens of Kosovo or permanent residents with work authorization are strongly encouraged to apply.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• In coordination with the Team Leader, provide day-to-day management and overall technical direction and coordination of project activities
• Provide technical leadership in design and lead implementation of activities across all program objectives and in collaboration with consortium partners
• Contribute to efforts by reviewing and assessing work plan activities with the leadership team to ensure progress and achievement of desired results and impact
• Promote team collaboration and identify synchronization opportunities across technical and functional teams
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders including government officials, donors, implementers, private sector, civil society among others
• Liaise with international partners, other donor projects, and other organizations to facilitate cooperation, collaboration and partnerships
• Serve as acting Team Leader in the absence of the Team Leader

Qualifications of the Energy Sector Training Expert:

• Education/training: Bachelor’s degree (Masters or PhD degree is preferred) in a field relevant to this contract, such an electrical, mechanical, environmental, civil engineering, or relevant professional field.
• Languages: Knowledge of English, C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; knowledge of Albanian or other local languages relevant to Kosovo will be an asset.
• General professional experience: 10 or more years of professional experience in energy or adjacent sector.
• Specific professional experience: 7 years of professional experience in establishing or managing training programs in technical vocational training fields related to the scope of this contract (energy and adjacent sectors); of which 5 years of experience in competency-based occupational standards or qualifications development, implementation/delivery, management, or evaluation of training programs with a private sector engagement.
• Regional experience: 2 years of work experience on similar projects in the Western Balkan region.
• Development cooperation (DC) experience: 2 years of experience working on DC projects
