Position: Finance Coordinator
Starting date: ASAP, 12 months with possibility of extension
Country Programme: Kosovo
Base: Kosovo, Prishtina
Line Manager: Head of Office and Head of Systems and Operations

About the Western Balkans Programme of People in Need:

People in Need started working in former Yugoslavia in the early 1990s to deliver humanitarian aid and has remained in the region since to support the region’s social and economic reconstruction and development. Since the late 2000s, PIN has been working with local organizations to promote social inclusion and good governance at the local level. About the role:

Under overall supervision of the Head of Office and Head of Systems and Operations, the Finance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring daily accountancy work and administrative tasks and administration of HR agendas for PIN office in Kosovo. He/she liaises with counterparts based in regional office of PIN in Belgrade and PIN headquarters in Prague (Czech Republic) on regular basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing invoices including payments in internet-banking
  • Management of Cash Register
  • Management of partners (fin/admin training, controlling monthly reports, drafting partner budgets for project proposals)
  • Monthly posting of bank statements for accounts
  • Approval and archiving of supplier contracts and invoices
  • Gathering and check of cash documents for donors´ reports and audits
  • Gathering information for monthly tax declaration
  • Communication with suppliers (tax issues, payments etc.)
  • Liaising with bank, governmental offices (Tax Office), legal advisors
  • Staff contracts management, administration of HR-related documents (recruitments, personal folders, leaves etc.)
  • Calculation of monthly payroll in accordance with Kosovo legislation
  • Recruitment and staff on-boarding coordination

Suitable candidates for this position should possess:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience at a similar level of responsibilities
  • University degree
  • Experience of working in finance within a humanitarian and/or development organization (NGO)
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluent spoken and written English
  • Strong coordination, organizational and problem-solving skills
