DT Global was recently awarded the 5-year USAID funded-Investment Promotion and Access to Finance Activity in Kosovo. This program aims to strengthen the private sector’s capacity to deliver sustainable economic growth through two mutually re-enforcing objectives: 1) investment promotion and attraction; and 2) increased access and utilization of diversified finance. DT Global will apply a market systems development (MSD) approach to attract greater investment and increase access to finance in Kosovo. By achieving these two objectives, the Activity will strengthen the resiliency of the private sector, create productive jobs, increase exports, and enable firms to adopt new technologies and business practices.
Position Summary:
The position is responsible for managing all Activity communications, both internally to USAID, and publicly, in close coordination and with the approval of the USAID communications function. The position will prepare for USAID review and approval a wide range of success stories, talking points, press releases, and will coordinate with USAID on media coverage of all activity public events. The expert will oversee and manage the Activity website and social platforms such as Facebook that can promote Activity and improve its outreach and effectiveness. The communications position also shares responsibility for ensuring compliance with USAID marking and branding policies and regulations. The position is also responsible for originating and, working closely with the Sector Leads, managing the implementation of project activities that specifically target the Activity’s affirmative action beneficiaries: women and youth.
Primary Responsibilities:
- With technical teams, manage the preparation of annual work plans for communication and social inclusion, and the subsequent development of implementing action plans
- Ensures gender and youth are integrated into all project activities;
- Works with team on collection and analysis of gender- and youth-disaggregated data and indicators.
- In coordination with the USAID DOC, maximize appropriate public awareness of the project’s activities and development impact
- Draft all project public communications documents and ensure review and approval by the USAID DOC prior to any public release.
- Manage media and public communications aspects of all of project’s public events, including timely coordination of VIP scheduling at appropriate events, agenda and timing, scene-setters, talking points etc.
- Supervise and administer Activity’s website and social communications platforms.
- Supervise and ensure Activity’s adherence to USAID branding and marking requirements.
- In coordination with team, manage communication aspects events, including conferences, round tables, forum discussions, fair and other types of events organized by the Activity.
- Plan and contribute to institutional and professional capacity-building in the areas of communications and social inclusion
Education Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in communications (including reporting), and other relevant roles.
- Excellent time and people management, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills are essential.
- Extremely accurate attention to detail and exceptional standards of written English.
- Experience in managing and contributing to social media platforms, external communications, and public relations related issues preferred.
- Demonstrated copywriting, copy-editing, and proof-reading skills.
- Previous experience working on USAID projects or in international development strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of delivering a broad range of communications tools, specifically content and design for websites, developing case studies, brand identity, social media, briefings, press releases.
- Video-editing skills are highly desirable.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and online management systems.
- Be proactive, have strong prioritization skills, and ability to work cross-culturally.
- Have a good understanding of local and national context. Nuanced political knowledge and analysis preferred.

- Fluency in English and Albanian required; knowledge of Serbian desirable.
