Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Team Leads
USAID/Kosovo Adapt Activity
Chemonics seeks climate change adaptation and mitigation team leads with expertise in private sector engagement, civil society engagement, and government partnerships for the anticipated USAID Kosovo Adapt Activity. These positions will be based in Pristina, Kosovo. The purpose of the activity is to increase public and private sector awareness and demand for climate smart initiatives, and to improve Kosovo’s capacity to adopt and implement policies and technologies that support climate change mitigation and adaptation, ultimately resulting in a resilient environment and more economic sustainability for Kosovo citizens. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Alongside the Chief of Party, leads technical activities in private sector engagement, civil society engagement, or government partnerships to move forward awareness, demand, and policies that address climate change mitigation and adaptation in Kosovo.
- Provides support to the chief of party in representational programmatic, strategic development, and quality control duties
- Liaises with USAID and government stakeholders to respond to their informational, data and monitoring requirements in coordination with the chief of party
- Reports to chief of party
Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree in Environmental Policy, Sustainable Development, Economics/Finance, Public Policy, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum ten years of relevant technical experience with demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team
- Experience implementing climate change mitigation and/or adaptation programs in Kosovo
- Demonstrated ability to work with a range of stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector entities, and non-governmental and civil society organizations; experience on USAID projects preferred
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Fluent in Albanian and proficient in English
