POSITION TYPE: full-time

POSITION SUMMARY

The YES Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program in Kosova, including alumni and stakeholder relations. This position reports to the Country Director in Prishtina and works in conjunction with Washington-based program managers and colleagues in Central and Southeast Europe. This is a full-time position: 40hrs/week with some flexibility in scheduling.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate all components of the YES program cycle in Kosova including:
  • Conducting YES participant recruitment (securing testing locations, conducting student testing, interviews, informational meetings for students and parents at testing locations across Kosova, processing applications, and data tracking).
  • Organizing departure and arrival travel for YES finalists.
  • Providing on-program support for YES participants and their parents in coordination with Washington DC staff.
  • Representing the YES program in Kosova and communicating accordingly with the local institutions, local media, U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, and other official institutions as needed.
  • Promoting the YES program year-round through communication with schools and relevant organizations, online promotion, and social media presence.
  • Supervising the YES alumni coordinator and supporting the YES alumni program in Kosova.
  • Managing the YES and YES alumni program budgets and contributing to accurate, timely financial accounting and reporting procedures.
  • Translating internal documents, letters and other materials.
  •  Other duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to the development of the American Councils Kosova office by actively seeking new funding and development opportunities for American Councils and assisting with the development, planning and organization of any other program implemented by American Councils.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field of study
  • Professional-level English and Albanian language skills.
  • Outstanding time management, organization, networking, and planning skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, teamwork, and multicultural interpersonal skills
  • Experience in budget management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software suite and common social media platforms
  • Familiarity with the education systems in Kosova
  • Flexibility to occasional work on weekends and evenings
  • Experience in exchange program administration preferred
