The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is seeking to fill seven Local Internship positions within the following projects, programmes, service units and departments:

  1. Intern position: Support of EU-Integration Reform Processes in Kosovo project

The overall purpose of the assignment

The intern will support the team in various areas while contributing to project implementation. In addition, the internship will be an opportunity for the intern to gain hands-on experience in the topics covered by the project.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of trainings organised for various partner institutions and stakeholders,
  • Assist in the organisation of workshops, conferences and other public events,
  • Assist the project team with preparatory work for the implementation of the activities, such as drafting terms of references, and drafting preparatory analyses or other documents as necessary,
  • Assist the project with data collection, presentations, reporting, social media content and other relevant materials,
  • Assist team members in various tasks, such as preparing materials for meetings, facilitating and documenting workshops, seminars, and other meetings with stakeholders at all levels, and coordinating logistics,
  • Perform other duties and tasks at the request of the project leader and advisors.

Required qualifications, competencies and experience

Qualification

  • Student or a recent graduate not more than 6 months ago in the area that is related to the objectives, such as Public Administration, Law, International Relations, European Integration and Computer Sciences.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Very good knowledge of English; German is an added value
  • Good working knowledge of computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Strong ethics, integrity, reliability, and confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Good presentation skills.

2. Intern position: Kosovo for Green programme

The overall purpose of the assignment

The Intern will support in implementation of the project’s capacity development plan, with a strong focus on advancing sustainable urban development, climate action, and integrated waste management. He/Shewill be lending support in various aspects such as gathering, creating, and sharing communication materials that highlight the project’s impact and amplify its visibility among stakeholders. Additionally, he/she will provide continuous assistance to the Programme Manager, Components Leaders and Advisors on relevant project matters. The internship will also be an opportunity for the intern to gain hands-on experience in the topics coveredby the project.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Assist in the gathering, crafting, and dissemination of visibility materials across printed media, mainstream channels, and social media platforms,
  • Assist in the compilation, refinement, and formatting of project publications, reports, and presentations,
  • Conduct research to propose innovative tools and strategies aimed at augmenting the project's visibility and impact,
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with partner institutions and counterparts, ensuring seamless collaboration and information exchange,
  • Play a key role in content preparation for workshops and training sessions conducted within Kosovo.
  • Participate in and support field missions, campaigns, fairs, workshops, and information days, contributing to their organization and execution,
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and calls, maintaining clear and efficient communication channels,
  • Maintain and update the project calendar to ensure adherence to deadlines and seamless coordination of events,
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the project database and assist in monitoring and reporting activities,
  • Provide support in administrative, organizational, and logistical aspects of project activities, including work meetings, trainings, workshops, seminars, public events, and study tours,
  • Take accurate minutes during work meetings and events, ensuring comprehensive documentation and follow-up actions,
  • Perform other duties and tasks at the request of project leaders and advisors.

Required qualifications, competencies and experience

Qualification

  • Student or a recent graduate not more than 6 months ago in the area that is related to the objectives, such as Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, Economics, Marketing or similar.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Very good knowledge of English; German is an added value
  • Good working knowledge of computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ethics, integrity, reliability, and confidentiality
  • Helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills.

3. Intern position :Centres for Migration(ZME) and Development and Shaping Development-oriented Migration (MEG) programmes

The overall purpose of the assignment

The Intern will support in implementation of activities of programmes Centres for Migration and Development (ZME) and Shaping Development-oriented Migration (MEG). He/She will be lending support in various aspects such as supporting in organization of project activities, workshops and events, gathering information and conducting research for the preparation of Terms of References (ToR) and other project documents. Additionally, he/she will provide continuous assistance to the Project Leader, Component Leader, Coordinators and Advisors on relevant project matters. The internship will also be an opportunity for the intern to gain hands-on experience in the topics covered by the projects.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering information and research on key focus areas of ZME and MEG programmes,
  • Assist in drafting Terms of Reference, papers and project documents related to the implementation of activities for both programmes,
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with partner institutions and counterparts, ensuring seamless collaboration and information exchange,
  • Support on content preparation for workshop sand training sessions conducted within Kosovo,
  • Participate in and support field missions, campaigns, fairs, workshops, and information days, contributing to their organization and execution,
  • Support in managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and calls, maintaining clear and efficient communication channels,
  • Maintain and update the project calendar(s) to ensure adherence to deadlines and seamless coordination of events,
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the project database and assist in monitoring and reporting activities,
  • Provide support in administrative, organizational, and logistical aspects of project activities, including work meetings, trainings, workshops, seminars, public events, and study tours,
  • Take accurate minutes during work meetings and events, ensuring comprehensive documentation and follow-up actions,
  • Perform other duties and tasks at the request of project leaders and advisors.

4. Intern position: Service Units

The overall purpose of the assignment

The intern will assist the Service Units by providing administrative, organizational, and logistical support. The internship will also be an opportunity for the intern to gain hands-on experience in the topics covered by the Unit.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing efficient day-to-day activities for projects served/supported by the service units,
  • Assist in ensuring a good flow of communication and information between the service units, projects and the GIZ office,
  • Support procurement of materials, equipment, and services in line with GIZ procurement procedures,
  • Help maintain the file management system for organized documentation,
  • Support in monitoring the monthly accounting and financial plans,
  • Support daily invoice checking, processing, and record-keeping,
  • Support the monitoring of the project inventory using the On-Site Asset software,
  • Support the organization of workshops, events, seminars, study visits and related activities,
  • Perform other duties and tasks at the request of the unit leader.

Required qualifications, competencies and experience

Qualification

  • Student or a recent graduate not more than 6 months ago in the area that is related to the objectives such as Economics, Management, Business Administration or Finance.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Very good knowledge of English; German is an added value

1. Intern position: Communications department

The overall purpose of the assignment

The intern will be supporting the communication, social media and public relations efforts of the GIZ office in Kosovo alongside the senior communications specialist and other communication specialists.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Assist in creating content for various communication channels including social media posts, media materials, other articles etc.,
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement, trends and feedback,
  • Support the planning, coordinating and execution of campaigns and events,
  • Assist with logistics, promotion and post-event reporting,
  • Ensure that all communication materials adhere to the company’s brand guidelines,
  • Help with internal communication, including announcements and updates,
  • Assist in organizing meetings, and maintaining communication records,
  • Perform other duties and tasks at the request of the Senior Communications Specialist.

Required qualifications, competencies and experience

Qualifications

  • Student or recent graduate not more than 6 months ago in the field of Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Very good knowledge and written Albanian and English
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing
  • Very good knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design programs
  • Attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.

Location: GIZ Office - Pristina

Expected start date: 1st of February 2025

Duration: The internship will last 6 months.

This is a full-time and paid internship (8 hrs per day, 40 hrs per week)
