DT Global was recently awarded the 5-year USAID funded-Investment Promotion and Access to Finance Activity in Kosovo. This program aims to strengthen the private sector’s capacity to deliver sustainable economic growth through two mutually re-enforcing objectives: 1) investment promotion and attraction; and 2) increased access and utilization of diversified finance. DT Global will apply a market systems development (MSD) approach to attract greater investment and increase access to finance in Kosovo. By achieving these two objectives, the Activity will strengthen the resiliency of the private sector, create productive jobs, increase exports, and enable firms to adopt new technologies and business practices.
Position Summary:
The Diversified Finance Lead reports to the DCOP and seeks to improve both the supply and demand sides of the financial ecosystem to increase availability and utilization of diversified financing in Kosovo. The Diversified Finance Lead identifies relevant access to finance opportunities and develops interventions to pursue them.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops interventions and work plans related to diversified finance area.
- Responsible for supporting financial service providers and institutions to expand their offerings.
- Actively pursues activities that supports bank and non-bank financial actors to develop and expand tailored and diversified financial products.
- Builds firm-level capacity in areas such as corporate governance, business planning, and financial management to enable SMEs to access financing.
- Facilitates strategic partnerships and linkages between financial service providers and growing businesses.
- Responsible for overseeing activities that will stimulate the Kosovo market to increase access to private equity, blended finance options, debt, and other relevant finance options.
- Ensure a proactive programming of Activity’s grant funding in the area of responsibility.
- Collaborates closely with the Investment Promotion and Legal/Regulatory Reform Leads for cross-thematic synergies.
- Works closely and regularly with the MELP Lead to monitor and capture key results.
- Collaborates closely with Communications Director to capture success stories and promote key successes.
Education and Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum education: bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Preferred education: master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in relevant field.
- Experience working with or supporting the private sector.
- Experience leading donor funded programs in similar context required; USAID experienced preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills required.
- Fluency in English and Albanian required; knowledge of Serbian desirable.
