Call for Experts for anticipated USAID Economic Reform Activity in Kosovo
Chemonics International, a US-based international development consulting firm, is seeking professionals for the anticipated USAID-funded Economic Reform Activity in Kosovo. The anticipated Activity is expected to support the Government of Kosovo in strengthening economic governance and adopting inclusive and effective regulatory reforms, thereby improving the competitiveness of Kosovo’s economy, promote the transparency and fairness of reforms, and advance Kosovo’s integration into regional, European, and Euro-Atlantic institutions and markets. The Activity will cooperate with the Government of Kosovo to develop and implement targeted, sustainable economic governance reforms, strengthen institutional capacity of the Government of Kosovo, and enhance capacity of the government to implement economic reforms that would empower minority communities, women, and youth.
Location: The positions will be based in Pristina, Kosovo. Please submit expressions of interest for the following areas:
Technical:
- Business Environment Improvement (including, but not limited to, inspections, trade, construction legalization, permitting and licensing reform etc);
- Public Financial Management Strengthening (including, but not limited to, macro-economicmodeling and forecasting, budget transparency and execution, tax policy and administration etc.).
- Private Sector Engagement in Economic Governance Reforms
- Civil Society Engagement in Economic Governance Reforms
- Economic Empowerment of Non-majority Communities, Women, and Youth
Project Operations:
- Strategic Communications (e.g., designing and managing communications or public awareness campaigns)
- Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Adaptation
- Subcontracts and Grants Management
- Finance and Operations
- Accounting
- Administrative Assistance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in relevant technical area.
- 5+ years of progressively more responsible work experience for a senior level; 3+ years of work experience for mid-level roles
- Proven managerial/supervisory experience (for some positions)
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills
- Experience with USAID or other donor projects preferred
- Experience working collaboratively with the government of Kosovo at various levels, international donors, and local organisations
- Proficiency in English is required; fluency in Albanian and/or Serbian is required.
