INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

INTERNSHIP TITLE: Market Access Intern
INTERN WORKSITE LOCATION: Prishtina, Kosovo
DATES OF INTERNSHIP: November 2023 – January 2024
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP: 3 months, with possibility of extension up to 6 months
WORKING HOURS: 4 hours a day, 20 hours per week, flexible as coordinated with the supervisor

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The USAID Kosovo Compete Activity is a five-year project implemented by DT Global that aims to promote resilient, self-sustaining market systems, and facilitate the private sector’s improved competitiveness in local, regional, and global markets. The USAID Kosovo Compete Activity works to empower firms, organizations, and institutions to improve market systems in three key export-oriented sectors (Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), Wood processing, and Food processing) and sustainably increase their competitiveness. By working to address constraints across the system, USAID Compete will enable scalable and systemic change to occur, stimulating job creation and the private sector’s increased ability to engage in local, regional, and international markets. The expected results of the Activity across all three sectors are 1) market systems are strengthened to increase sector competitiveness and 2) market actors within those market systems are more productive and competitive.

The Market Access Intern will provide daily assistance on market access technical deliverables such as drafting ongoing activities through minutes of the meetings, prepare to do lists and power point presentations of the ongoing and upcoming activities, conducting research, and preparing reports and other materials.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Learn and acquire professional experience towards desired career path,
  2. Advance skills in economy and/or marketing,
  3. Learn to work responsibly and independently in a dynamic work environment,
  4. Learn to work in a team setting towards common project goals,
  5. Obtain knowledge and skills to work in a USAID project.

DELIVERABLES:

  1. Conduct research for success stories, reports and other project materials as required.
  2. Assist in conducting interviews for success stories.
  3. Prepare relevant document for facilitating implementation of the activities.
  4. Assist in the preparation for project events.
  5. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recently completed or in the final year of completion of a university degree in Economic, Marketing, Finance and/ or Business preferred.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Albanian.
  • Strong computer literacy with internet and social media savvy.
  • Interest and basic knowledge of digital marketing, and communications.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Committed, hard-working, and willing to learn.
  • Excellent competency in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Be flexible.
