Team Lead: Youth Mobilization, Up to Youth
Overview
Global Communities is an international development non-profit organization. Our mission is to create long-lasting, positive, and community-led change that improves the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable people across the globe.
Global Communities seeks a Team Lead for the USAID-funded Up to Youth Activity, which addresses youth vulnerable to social exclusion by mobilizing and engaging them in meaningful ways that effect positive change. This Activity works in nine Kosovo municipalities, mobilizing youth to be forces for positive change, developing their life/soft skills, giving them means to apply those skills, and developing, building, and supporting resilience partners to foster an environment for youth to engage in positive and meaningful ways.
Responsibilities:
The Youth Mobilization Team Lead manages outreach and engagement. He/She is responsible for developing strategies and tools to increase the engagement of youth communities, leads recruitment of participants, oversees, and coordinates Social Change Initiatives in underserved communities, and is a member of the senior management team. She/He:
- Supports youth to design, manage, and implement community change interventions
- Connects internal and external stakeholders for information exchange, program development, and to ensure quality and impact of youth programs
- Coordinates communication between staff, youth, partners, and the donor
- Develops strategies and tools to increase youth engagement, activism, and citizenship
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in management, international development, or a related social science field
- At least three years' technical experience in donor-funded youth programs, or equivalent
- Experience managing and implementing development projects focused on youth, community resilience, and economic empowerment, preferably in the Balkans
- Experience working in complex, politically sensitive activities
- Experience working with civil society actors, government, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Experience with adaptive management approaches
- Leadership development enthusiasm and ability
- Fluency in English and Albanian or other local language required
- Members of non-majority and underserved communities encouraged to apply
