Content Editor

III. Job Purpose
A Content Editor is responsible for reviewing and editing PECB’s written materials. The Content Editor should be able to familiarize themselves with the topic and is expected to conduct the necessary research and collect reliable and relevant information to ensure that the content is original, easily comprehensible, accurate, and well written in English.
Usually, the candidate that best fits this position is somebody who is willing to learn new things, has a strong attention to detail, is able to acquaint themselves with previously unknown topics/concepts, and has excellent English comprehension and writing skills.
IV. Main Responsibilities
A Content Editor is expected to:
- Review, edit, and improve the language and structure of all written materials received for review
- Detect and correct any errors or mistakes in typography and meaning related to all written materials received for review
- Ensure the fluency and consistency of all written materials received for review
- Fact check and verify information
- Review and edit documentation policies and procedures
- Develop an understanding of the target audience and the market
- Contribute to the implementation of new initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
V. Preferred Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree (or should be attending their last year of studies) in English, Journalism, or a related field
- Advanced English writing and reading skills
- Excellent research skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail
- Willing to continuously learn new topics/concepts
- Willing to learn and grow, as well as to challenge and contribute to ideas
- Able to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to work effectively with people from various levels of the organization
- Able to receive and effectively respond to feedback and constructive criticism, and make improvement on the tasks as requested
