Caritas Switzerland (CACH)’s Country Office for Kosovo is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of
Expert in Awareness-Raising and Advice for SMEs on Green Transition
(Outcome 1 Manager)
Under the supervision of the Team Leader (TL), the Outcome Managers will support the implementation of the Project “Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo “, in line with Caritas Switzerland rules and regulations and donors’ requirements.
We are in search of knowledgeable, experienced and innovative candidates for the three positions in the fields identified below for our upcoming project. The employment is possible if Caritas Switzerland is awarded the project “Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo” by SDC.
Position summary:
The Outcome Manager will implement activities planned under the project “Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo “, in line with the given intervention as described in the approved project document.
Outcomes are the following:
- SMES and other relevant actors are aware of the potentials of the green transition to improve competitiveness in Kosovo.
Main responsibilities for the Outcome:
- Advocating for Policy Changes: Engaging in advocacy efforts to promote supportive policies and frameworks that encourage sustainable practices among SMEs.
- Developing Educational Materials: Creating informative resources, guides, and toolkits to help SMEs understand the benefits of the green transition.
- Conducting Workshops and Training: Organizing and facilitating workshops, seminars, and training sessions to educate SME stakeholders about sustainable practices and green technologies.
- Providing Consultancy Services: Offering tailored advice and support to SMEs on implementing green practices and complying with environmental regulations.
- Building Awareness Campaigns: Designing and executing awareness campaigns to promote the importance of sustainability and the green transition among SMEs.
- Networking and Collaboration: Establishing partnerships with industry organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to foster a supportive ecosystem for SMEs transitioning to greener practices.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Knowledge on assessing the effectiveness of awareness-raising activities and initiatives, gathering feedback, and making necessary adjustments to improve impact.
- Staying updated on Regulations: Keeping abreast of the latest environmental regulations, standards, and trends relevant to SMEs, environmental regulations and communicating these changes to business owners.
- Facilitating Access to Resources: Helping SMEs identify and access funding, grants, and other resources available for green initiatives.
- Promoting Best Practices: Sharing case studies and success stories of SMEs that have successfully transitioned to greener practices to inspire others.
The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, environmental science and finance. Advanced master’s degree or equivalent is an asset;
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, environmental science and finance. Advanced master’s degree or equivalent is an asset;
- Experience in implementation of Private Sector Development projects with the capacities to directly advise companies, but also intermediaries and the government on technical aspects related to the green and just transition;
- Knowledge on the EU Green Deal, Western Balkans Green Agenda and Green and Just Transition;
- Experience in increasing the awareness of SMEs and other relevant actors of the potentials of the green transition to improve competitiveness;
- Experience in informing SMEs about the concepts, tools, and methodologies and benefits of Green and Just Transition including concepts such as digitalization and innovation;
- Hands-on experience in:
- disseminating good practices and success stories;
- supporting data generation for planning and developing a greener economy;
- facilitating peer learning formats (as well as public private dialogue and others) on the national and regional level;
- increasing consumer awareness on sustainable consumption
- Experience in collaboration with International Organisations or NGOs, Government Institutions, and NGOs in the field of climate change and environmental protection, youth activism, or related fields;
- Advanced skills in planning, communication, facilitation, and coordination;
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken). Excellent knowledge of at least one local language (Albanian, Serbian), knowledge of a second local language is considered an asset;
- Very good skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc);
- Working experience with gender mainstreaming and conflict-sensitiveness is considered an asset;
- A valid driving license: Willingness to travel throughout Kosovo[GS1] [LG2] [3] ;
