BACKGROUND
Solidar Suisse SEE is implementing a project “Preventing Gender Based Violence Through Education and Awareness Raising” in partnership with the Kosovar Gender Studies Center in Kosovo funded by the European Commission. The project aims to counter and prevent all forms of gender-based violence in Kosovar society through education and awareness raising activities.

As part of this project, Solidar Suisse SEE is seeking a company to develop one short documentary and two digital contents to increase awareness of the problem of gender-based violence in Kosovo and how it can be prevented. The project aims to explore different aspects of domestic violence, including success stories, legal rights, negative effects on children, and intimate partner violence. The documentary and digital content will be produced using a mix of interview footage, expert analysis, and archival material.

SCOPE OF WORK/ DELIVERABLES

The selected company will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Develop a concept and script for a maximum 5-minute short video on gender-based violence in Kosovo, including topics such as domestic violence, success stories, legal rights, actual mechanisms for prevention and support, negative effects of GBV on children and intimate partner violence. The documentary should be in Albanian language with English and Serbian subtitles.
  • Develop two digital contents (e.g., videos, animations, infographics, etc.) each lasting a maximum of 2 minutes, to be promoted through the same channels as the short documentary. The digital contents should be informative, engaging and visually appealing and should convey key messages on the prevention of gender-based violence.

The topics shall cover the following:

  • Overview of Domestic Violence: Provide a brief introduction to domestic violence, including the different types of abuse that fall under this category and the issue's prevalence.
  • Success Stories: Feature brief interviews with survivors of domestic violence who have survived their abuse and have since managed to reintegrate in society. The interviews shall provide insight into how these individuals were able to break free from their abusers and rebuild their lives, providing hope and inspiration to others who maybe in similar situations.
  • Legal Rights: The legal concept of domestic violence and the different national laws and regulations and international conventions that protect victims of abuse with an overview of the legal process involved in seeking help, including obtaining restraining orders and pressing charges.
  • Negative Effects on Children: Highlight the devastating impact that domestic violence can have on children, as well as experts in child psychology who can shed light on the long-term effects that such trauma can have on young minds.
  • Intimate Partner Violence: The specific issue of marital violence and the challenges that victims of spousal abuse face in seeking help and breaking free from their abusers, including short interviews with survivors and experts in domestic violence.

REQUIREMENTS

The company should meet the following requirements:

  • Be legally registered in Kosovo
  • Have experience in developing documentaries and digital content on gender-based violence
  • Have a team of professionals with expertise in scripting, filming, editing, animation, and graphic design
  • Be able to provide samples of previous work related to the topic of gender-based violence SUBMISSION OF EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Interested companies should submit their Expression of Interest (EoI) by email to Solidar Suisse in Kosovo at

[email protected] no later than 31 July 2024. The EoI should include the following information:

  • Company profile, including registration details and contact information
  • A brief description of previous experience in developing documentaries and digital contents on social issues, including gender-based violence.
  • A team composition and CVs of team members
  • Samples of previous work related to the topic of gender-based violence
  • A detailed budget breakdown, including all expenses related to pre-production, production, and post- production (excluding VAT).

EVALUATION OF THE EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Solidar Suisse SEE will evaluate the submitted EoIs based on the following criteria:

  • Experience in developing documentaries and digital contents on social issues, including gender-based violence (30%)
  • Quality of previous work related to the topic of gender-based violence (30%)
  • Team composition (20%)
  • Budget feasibility and reasonability (20%)

Note: The documentary and digital contents will be broadcast and promoted through national public transmitters, public portals, the digital platforms of the most-read electronic media in Kosovo, and other channels such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Solidar Suisse SEE reserves the right to request additional information or clarification from the interested companies.
