Position Overview

The Design Manager will play a key role in leading the design team, overseeing project execution, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality designs that align with client needs and industry standards.

This role requires expertise in CAD and Cabinetvision software, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic design goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all stages of design, from concept development to production, using software like CAD and Cabinet Vision.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are feasible, functional, and manufacturable.
  • Work directly with clients to understand project requirements, communicate design updates, and ensure alignment with client expectations.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry regulations, standards, and sustainability practices.
  • Identify and proactively resolve design challenges, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the design team and across the company.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a design management role within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD and Cabinet Vision software.
  • Proven experience in project management, with skills in scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Understanding of sustainable design practices.
  • Background in precision engineering is an advantage.
