INTERNSHIP TITLE: Grants Intern
INTERN WORKSITE LOCATION: Prishtina, Kosovo
DATES OF INTERNSHIP: September 2024 – March 2025
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP: 6 months
WORKING HOURS: 4 hours a day, 20 hours per week, flexible as coordinated with the supervisor

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The USAID Investment Promotion and Access to Finance Activity in Kosovo, is a five-year project implemented by DT Global. This program aims to strengthen the private sector’s capacity to deliver sustainable economic growth through two mutually re-enforcing objectives: 1) investment promotion and attraction; and 2) increased access and utilization of diversified finance. The Activity uses private sector-led approaches to promote sustainable partnerships between diverse private and public stakeholders. By fulfilling the noted objectives, the Activity aims to strengthen the resiliency of the private sector, create productive jobs, increase exports, and enable firms to adopt new technologies and business practices.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Grants Intern will provide daily assistance and support the work of the Grants and Subcontracts Manager (GSM) to ensure that grants and subcontracts are being administered in compliance with USAID regulations and DT Global policies and procedures and in accordance with the Grants under Contract Manual of the Investment Promotion and Access to Finance Activity. The grants intern will help maintaining complete files of all grants evidencing compliance and preparing reports and other required materials.

SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Grants Intern is expected to support Grants and Subcontracts Manager in:
- Maintaining records of all grants disbursed in a comprehensive and detailed database.
- Screening of potential beneficiaries prior to evaluation of their applications.
- Organizing and maintaining electronic files of grants related documents.
- Collecting inputs for weekly, quarterly and annual reports on grant activities, grant disbursement and other reports as needed for the program team.
- Carrying out due diligence and conducting market surveys of the proposed costs for services and items as submitted by applicants
- Overseeing timely submission of grantee deliverables and reviewing expenses against submitted budgets.
- Completing all grants activity files documentation such as grants agreements, transfer of titles and grants activity close out forms.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
IDEAL CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recently completed or in the final year of completion of a university degree in Public Administration and / or Business Management preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with a team
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Albanian.
- Excellent competency in computer literacy and using Microsoft Office applications.
- Committed, hard-working, and flexible.
- Interest in providing administrative support in grants management in a USAID Activity.
- Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation in handling all assigned tasks as required.
