Project Description

One of the largest strategic IT projects in Austria: replacing a central SAP system with a newly developed, cross-country Greenfield ERP/Core Retail system – including a Master Data Hub, Golden Key logic, governance, and modular building blocks.

The goal is to create a robust, scalable core system that will be rolled out across multiple countries and significantly simplify the integration of additional modules.

Roadmap for the Coming Months

• Main implementation phase is underway;
• Development and harmonization of master data (products, suppliers, etc.);
• Gradual introduction of proprietary modules (including Procurement) while phasing out legacy ERP systems;
• First milestone: data governance – secure and consistent data processing across different systems

Challenges

• Very large data volumes – complex data integration from three ERP system families across five countries;
• Backlog maturity still in progress – QA processes and testing cycles currently time-intensive;
• Establishing strong Scrum maturity: starting in 2026, the project team will expand by approx. 3–5 Scrum teams, building domain-specialized teams

What Awaits You – and What We Expect

• 7+ years of professional experience in software development and solid experience with Python (not in a data engineering context!);
• Development and enhancement of complex business applications and modular, reusable backend components;
• Contribution to the design and implementation of a modern retail core platform using a Greenfield approach;
• Collaboration with an international engineering team;
• Participation in architecture, technical design, and implementation of sustainable, scalable solutions;
• End-to-end involvement throughout the entire development process – from analysis to deployment
