Senior Civic Engagement Expert
USAID/Kosovo Adapt Activity
Chemonics seeks a senior civic engagement expert for the anticipated USAID Kosovo Adapt Activity. The positions will be based in Pristina, Kosovo. The purpose of the activity is to increase public and private sector awareness and demand for climate smart initiatives, and to improve Kosovo’s capacity to adopt and implement policies and technologies that support climate change mitigation and adaptation, ultimately resulting in a resilient environment and more economic sustainability for Kosovo citizens. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Fosters climate literacy amongst citizens
- Establishes a network of youth climate ambassadors.
- Strengthen capacity of civil society and the media to raise public awareness
- Supports the technical team and partners in raising awareness about inclusion in climate change initiatives
- Supports development inclusive approaches and integration of considerations for women, youth, and minority groups in activities and solutions
- Manages and oversees civic engagement specialist
- Reports to chief of party
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public administration, business, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in public outreach and managing initiatives aimed at increasing civic engagement with government and private sector
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of civil society actors including women, youth, minorities, and media
- Development experience with international donors
- Native Albanian and English proficiency required; Serbian proficiency preferred
