Trainers for Integration Courses for Persons with International Protection

Organization: Jesuit Refugee Service – JRS Kosovo

Project: Pathways to Socio-Economic Integration for Refugees and Repatriated Persons in Kosovo (Under the Project HOME) implemented in partnership with Caritas Switzerland in Kosovo

Activity: Implementation of 8 integration trainings divided into 4 modules, in line with the official Curricula of Integration for Foreigners.

Module 1: Kosovar Culture and Traditions (2 trainings)
Module 2: History of the Republic of Kosovo (2 trainings)
Module 3: Constitutional Order and State Regulation (2 trainings)
Module 4: Civil Life and Work Skills (2 trainings)

Indicative timeline: To be implemented during the project period according to the agreed schedule with JRS Kosovo.

Number of trainers required: Up to 4 trainers. Candidates may apply for one or more modules, depending on their expertise and experience. One trainer may be selected to deliver multiple modules.

About JRS

Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organization with a mission to accompany, serve, and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons, so that they may heal, learn, and determine their own future. JRS programmes are currently implemented in more than 50 countries worldwide, serving refugees and forcibly displaced persons in conflict zones, detention centres, remote border areas, and urban settings.

JRS Kosovo was established in 2001 and supports refugees, asylum seekers, persons with international protection, and other vulnerable groups through psychosocial support, legal counselling, socio-economic inclusion, educational and capacity-building activities, humanitarian support, and intercultural and community engagement initiatives.

Partnership with Caritas Switzerland in Kosovo - HOME Project

JRS Kosovo implements activities in partnership with Caritas Switzerland in Kosovo under the HOME project, aiming to strengthen inclusion, access to services, and sustainable socio-economic integration pathways for vulnerable populations in Kosovo.

Within this framework, JRS Kosovo is implementing the project “Pathways to Socio-Economic Integration for Refugees and Repatriated Persons in Kosovo”, which seeks to contribute to the sustainable integration of persons with international protection through strengthened access to information, integration support, institutional coordination, and socio-economic inclusion opportunities.

Project Description

As part of the project Pathways to Socio-Economic Integration for Refugees and Repatriated Persons in Kosovo, JRS Kosovo will organize a set of integration trainings for persons with international protection, in accordance with the official Curricula of Integration for Foreigners.

The training programme consists of four thematic modules, designed to support participants in gaining knowledge and practical understanding of Kosovo’s social, legal, cultural, and institutional environment, while fostering their participation and inclusion in community and socio-economic life.

At the end of each module, participants’ knowledge and understanding will be assessed through an appropriate evaluation method. Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion, in accordance with the applicable integration curriculum and relevant institutional procedures.

Objectives of the Trainings

The integration training aims to:

  • Increase participants’ knowledge and understanding of:
    • Kosovar culture and traditions;
    • History of the Republic of Kosovo;
    • Constitutional order and state regulations;
    • Civil life and work-related skills.
  • Strengthen participants’ preparedness for social participation and socio-economic integration in Kosovo.
  • Facilitate participants’ understanding of their rights, responsibilities, institutions, and everyday life in Kosovo.
  • Support successful completion of the integration programme and certification process.

Required / Preferred Experience and Skills of Trainers

All trainers should possess:

  • Proven experience in delivering trainings, facilitation, or adult learning programmes;
  • Knowledge of migration, asylum, integration, or refugee-related issues in Kosovo;
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills;
  • Very good planning, organizational, and time-management skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow agreed guidance and timelines;
  • Very good command of English.

Specific requirements per module:

Trainer for Module 1: Kosovar Culture and Traditions

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise related to Kosovar culture, traditions, customs, and intercultural understanding.

Trainer for Module 2: History of the Republic of Kosovo

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise related to the history of Kosovo.

Trainer for Module 3: Constitutional Order and State Regulation

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the constitutional order, governance system, legal framework, and institutional structure in Kosovo.
  • Knowledge of the legal framework related to foreigners and persons with international protection is considered an asset.

Trainer for Module 4: Civil Life and Work Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in topics related to civic participation, daily life skills, labour market orientation, employment readiness, or work-related skills.

Roles and Responsibilities of Trainers

Selected trainers will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and adapting the training materials, where necessary, in coordination with JRS Kosovo;
  • Delivering trainings in a participatory, inclusive, and culturally sensitive manner;
  • Ensuring timely and quality implementation of assigned training sessions;
  • Conducting participant evaluations and knowledge assessments;
  • Collecting participant feedback through evaluation forms;
  • Preparing a brief training report following completion of the assigned module(s).

Roles and Responsibilities of JRS Kosovo

JRS Kosovo will be responsible for:

  • Providing the official training modules and supporting materials;
  • Coordinating logistics and overall organization of the trainings;
  • Coordinating communication with participants;
  • Monitoring implementation and providing necessary support during trainings;
  • Addressing feedback, recommendations, and implementation-related challenges.
