Program Associate:

Position Summary

The National Democratic Institute (NDI) in Kosovo is seeking to recruit a Program Associate to join the team. The candidate should possess strong analytical, writing, interpersonal, and administrative skills and an understanding of the political environment in Kosovo, political parties and National Assembly of Kosovo. As part of the team, the Program Associate will play a significant role in supporting our program on working with political parties, as well as national and local institutions, in advancing inclusion and gender equality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate skills building sessions for NDI activities and assist with maintaining regular communication with partners.
  • Participate in internal meetings to develop and maintain a knowledge of team and program objectives and work progress, and demonstrate this understanding in the execution and completion of assigned work.
  • Provide logistical support (e.g. coordination of logistics for meetings, training and other public events, data entry, travel, etc.).
  • Complete basic research and analysis assignments and provide summarized findings in a clear, concise and understandable manner.
  • Support and prepare selected materials (activity concept, training agenda and materials, presentations, etc.) and communications.
  • Support the planning and execution of team events with external parties.
  • Translate materials and documents for program activities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor degree. This is an entry level program position. Previous work or internship experience is required.
  • Good research and analysis skills to allow for gathering, summarizing and presenting findings.
  • Interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as externally with NDI partners and other stakeholders.
  • Oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image.
  • An attention-to-detail, with a propensity to complete work accurately and with a focus on quality.
  • Initiative and the ability to multitask and prioritize; manage time, problem-solving, and organizational skills; and flexibility to adapt and respond to shifting priorities.
  • Capacity to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite tools and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in English and Albanian. Serbian language would be an asset.
